Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds

Virtual worlds are anything the user wants them to be; that is to say, they are the product of our respective imaginations and can be filled with any one, and any thing imaginable. Virtual worlds can be used to recreate vistas that have already disappeared and breathe new life and imagination onto them. Imagining a modern version of Pompeii, an ocean filled with only turtles, or the renaissance era in a steam punk imagination and retelling of it. These are all increasingly available and possible with the power of virtual technology. Furthermore, in the article "In Room 100, It's Sid and Nancy All Over Again"", creator Michael Brown recreated a Chelsea hotel to the spitting image of his imagination and recollection, and has since then used it to enrich his own life through interaction and increased creative control. Additionally, in the article "'Naughty Auties' battle autism with virtual interaction", the article describes that individuals with Aspe

Blog: Social networking sites

Today, I want to talk about my experience and impressions about Facebook and Twitter, as well as Reddit and Tumblr. Social networking sites are a pretty new commodity all things considered. They've only been around nigh a decade, and have so much room to develop more over the coming years. However, I can still remember how Facebook started as a young, middle schooler back in 06 as the new way all my friends kept in contact. Former President Obama used websites and Facebook as a means to collect a massive database of potential voters, speak to them all via mass emails, and develop his own brand by giving a direct connection with the people he's speaking to. This ultimately demonstrated a new way of using social networking platforms to speak to peopl

Blogs vs Wikis: What's the Difference?

Hey Guys, Lets talk about blogs and wikis and the power behind each of the two platforms. Blogs are personalized entities that speaks to a persons character, and often is more contemporary in notion. When looking at Tumblr, a very popular blog site that makes use of gifs, memes, posts, etc., Tumblr often matches the persons interest. Personal blogs speak to a person's personal interests, and thus we can see the relationship as Tumblr as a blogging website. These blogs have the power to connect with hundreds of thousands of people instantly, and allowing people to share their voice and thoughts on matters. Furthermore, blogs are often filled with very curious pieces of information to have handy, that are often not explored through modern scientific approaches. In the grand scheme of things, many open source projects are "blog like" in that it's a community of people working together in editing, and fixing open source projects to be more accessible to all. There is a
